  • Types of charcoal: compressed, vine, powdered, and pencil charcoal

  • Blending, smudging, and layering

  • Vine charcoal, compressed sticks, charcoal pencils

  • Kneaded erasers, tortillons (blending stumps), soft cloths

  • Tonal papers (white, grey, brown, black)

  • Fixatives and sprays to preserve artwork
